Understanding the Impact of Educational Psychology on Learning and Behavior

INTRODUCTION

The development of education allows us to understand the meaning of psychology, and understand the behaviors and reactions of different people with whom we interact. We understand the meaning and significance of psychology. And in this course, Iโ€™m able to understand the importance of psychology in education and awareness about there and learn basic laws and theories of learning and the needs of the individual in the field of education. And Iโ€™m able to understand the basic concept of society, culture, and community. How to socialize and understand the importance of sociology in education. And also able to understand the class system and its effect on society.

WHAT IS PSYCHOLOGY?

In this topic of psychology, we will be able to understand that psychology is the study of the mind and behavior. So if we take it as social and psychological changes then I can say that it changes my way of thinking about the person if the person is reacting to me with a bad response so I understand that maybe that person is facing any difficulty or they have any problem regarding their personal or professional life.

AWARENESS ABOUT THE NATURE AND IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY

The nature of Environmental psychology is rooted in the belief that nature has a significant role in human development and conduct. It believes that nature has a vital contribution to the way think, feel, and behave with others.
Importance of educational psychology about the social and psychological change in my personality that before when I teach my students I was not able to understand them or their thinking ability. But it is easy for me to understand them or their way of thinking before I took all the students in the same category but now Iโ€™m able to understand that every student is different in thinking in gaining knowledge and every student has their ability and how to apply educational psychology to a different type of students.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND BASIC LAWS AND THEORIES OF LEARNING

The learning environment is so much important in a learning process that if the environment is noisy or not up to the requirement of understanding the educational aspects so the teacher will not able to teach the students correctly and the student itself will also not be able to understand it. Before knowing about this, I thought only about the above statement but learning also refers to the physical environment, emotional and psychological environment if the learner is not physically and emotionally ready so itโ€™s difficult for them to learn because their mind is not matching the learning environment. Because their mind is not matched to the earning process. So in this sense, a good environment is so much important whether it is a physical, emotional, or psychological environment.

LAWS OF LEARNING AND HOW IT CHANGE MY WAY OF THINKING:

Edward Thorndike’s first laws of learning:

Readiness, exercise, and effect. In this law, we learn that if the environment is good then the learner will learn more efficiently and the learner will be satisfied it brings a positive change and my life that if I teach or learn I always prefer to choose the best environment for me and my students as well, for better understanding.

The Law of exercise tells us that if we repeat things more frequently then weโ€™ll be able to understand and learn them for a long time. This also brings a good and positive change into my life that I teach my students and repeat things more frequently so that they learn them easily and for a long period I also apply it to my studies as well for better understanding and for things to remember for a long period.

The Law of readiness tells us that, if the learner is physically, emotionally, and mentally ready then the learning will be easier and more efficient for them. It gives a social and psychological belief in my life that if my student seems to be unhappy or they have any physical issue and are not ready for the learning then I first want to solve their problem if I can or make their mind towards studies so that they will enjoy learning. Otherwise, before knowing this, I was not able to understand it and it change my way of thinking. And when I study I also try to become physically, emotionally, and mentally ready.

THEORIES OF LEARNING

Behavior is based on external and itโ€™s tangible.

In cognition, the willingness of the learner is required. We have to understand the learnerโ€™s mind. Information and lecture should be meaningful and well-organized.
Constructivism is individual experiences and internal knowledge. It depends that how the person will react. It differs from person to person. It tells us that everyone constructed their knowledge so it differs from person to person.

NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION IN MY EXPERIENCE

Every individual behaves differently.

There are two types of individual differences:

1. PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES

This changed my way of thinking that everyone is unique and different in their way and we have to be sensible about that and not make fun of them and we have to be mature for not saying bad words to them as individuals.

2. MENTAL DIFFERENCES

The level of creativity is different in every student and on this basis, we consider someone genius, normal, idiot, etc.
Some students are quick picker while some catch it slowly but the process remains the same slow or fast it matter to the individual, every person is the same but the learning process of some students is slow and we donโ€™t have to judge them based on this. Some students need more attention while some get it in a single go. It all depends on the mentality. We canโ€™t judge someone or make fun of them based on their mental or physical level.

FACTORS AFFECTING INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

1. HEREDITY

It’s natural and we donโ€™t choose it by ourselves. Itโ€™s natural and no one can choose it by themselves so if someone is short tall fat etc. we have to not make fun of them or make them feel low to others.

2. ENVIRONMENT

We can change it to some extent, previous knowledge or individual differences are very important for individual differences.

CONCEPT OF SOCIETY, CULTURE, AND COMMUNITY

Society is important for many reasons including cultural formation, social equality, social justice, community service, etc.

PROCESS OF SOCIALIZATION

It describes the ways that people come to understand societal norms and expectations, accept society’s beliefs, and be aware of societal values.
Social psychology is the scientific study of the behavior of the individual in society

CONCLUSION

I want to conclude my topic by saying that studying educational psychology, changes me socially and psychologically before I canโ€™t be able to understand people and their minds but now I try to understand them or notice their behavior that whether theyโ€™re depressed or facing any other problems and I also become socially strong with the people and this bring a positive change in my personality. And I start practice not hurting others whether theyโ€™re physically weak or mentally but everyone is unique and everyone is different in their way. As a teacher, I also practice this that if one student understood the same topic I taught but the other wonโ€™t so I teach him again n again because this also tells me that everyone is not mentally the same and if we do a lot of practice then it will easy for them to remember for a long period. And in the last, I want to say that this helped me a lot to become a very positive person with the people who are fighting in their life with so many problems and can become a better person for all.
